Stressed About College Admissions? Clear Your Head Here.....

Updated: Nov 29, 2022

As seniors prepare to apply to their futures, it can be a very impactful period in their lives. The admissions process is one not to mess around with and should be taken seriously. However, it can be quite stressful and exhausting. Below, I have some tips that got me through the stressful time:

  • Use https://www.headspace.com. This is an online website and app that anyone can download to meditate and clear their head. Mediation was a crucial part of my time applying to colleges, and I continue to use it before bed and when I wake up.

The various voices to choose from makes it very comforting as well as the different breathing techniques they provide. They clear my head and make me aware of my breathing.

With headspace I have noticed better self control, better moods, and overall, and increase in energy!

  • Having a support system is key. You want to surround yourself with very positive people who will accept any decision you make.

  • Accept criticism. I know I can be stubborn, but getting crucial and honest advice from my peers and teachers has helped me release stress by knowing that there will always be someone to back me up.

  • Lastly, start early!!!! Never wait until the last minute. It is straightforward to fall behind with this type of stuff. Many students feel stressed because they have other coursework on top of the admissions process. Starting early, even in the summer, creates a long-term stressless environment.

YOU GOT THIS!!!!

Don't stress and be yourself :)
